Participation Conditions

The participant ID card entitles you to participate in the course you have booked. It should be brought along on the day of the course.

Scope of services:

The scope of services is based on the event descriptions provided on our website and the booking confirmation referring to these descriptions. Changes to essential services due to unforeseeable events such as storms, cable car closures, lack of snow, political unrest and similar circumstances are possible and permissible.

Registration:

Registration can be done online, by telephone or in writing. Your registration is binding. We will send you a booking confirmation, which constitutes the conclusion of the participation agreement. By registering, you accept our terms and conditions of participation.

Payment:

Payment is due upon receipt of the booking confirmation and invoice. The amount stated on the invoice must be transferred to the specified account within the specified payment period. Entitlement to participate only arises after payment of the course fee.

Withdrawal:

Withdrawal before the start of the event must be declared in writing (by email or in writing).

Unfortunately, we incur costs even before our events take place, for example when registering. Buses and teachers are booked in advance and must be paid for.

We charge for cancellations as follows:

  • No retention up to and including 30 days before departure
  • 29 to 20 days before departure 30%
  • 19 to 14 days before departure 50%
  • 13 to 7 days before departure 80%
  • From the 7th day before the course begins and after the course has started, we are unable to offer any refunds. Naturally, the customer reserves the right to provide evidence of lesser damages.

Once a skiing/snowboarding course or other event has begun, no compensation or refund can be granted for services not used by the customer (e.g. individual course days). A booked beginners’ course cannot be started on the third or fourth day of the course if the first two days of the course could not be attended, e.g. due to illness. The other course participants will then be too advanced.

We therefore recommend that you take out travel cancellation and curtailment insurance with a provider of your choice. Alternatively, you can also book our course insurance directly. Further information can be found on our website in the main menu: Information and Travel – Course Protection.

In the event of withdrawal, it is possible to nominate a replacement participant in the same age and ability group. Please inform us of this as early as possible.

Liability:

Participation in all events is strictly at your own risk. Except in cases of damage to health, body, and life, we are only liable for gross negligence and intent.

Each course participant is solely responsible for ensuring that they are physically fit enough to meet the requirements of the booked course or ski day trip.

Furthermore, the ski school is not liable in cases of force majeure (including lack of snow, technical problems with the lift operators, weather, road or traffic-related restrictions on the daily schedule).

The Schweitzer Team Ski School is not liable for service disruptions in connection with services that are merely arranged as third-party services (e.g. loss, theft, damage, delay, etc.). The respective transport company is liable for passenger transport.

The transport companies and the Schweitzer Team ski school are not liable for any loss or mix-ups of items brought along.

Course cancellation by the organiser:

The Schweitzer Team Ski School reserves the right to cancel courses that are not booked by at least three people. In this case, the customer will receive a full refund of the course fees already paid. No further claims can be made.

Care:

Supervision of children and young people begins in the morning when they board the bus and ends in the afternoon when they leave the bus. Therefore, please check the return times directly at the bus and pick up your children on time. We endeavour to ensure punctual returns, but traffic delays are unavoidable. We ask for your understanding in such cases.

Day drivers who have not booked a course will not be supervised. Those under the age of 16 require written consent from a parent or guardian.

Picture material:

The Schweitzer Team ski school makes images taken at events available to its customers in the internal area of its website. Names are not mentioned. The internal area is password-protected and not accessible to the public. Each course participant can use the password to view and download only the images provided in their course section. If a participant (or their legal guardian) declares their disagreement, this will not be done. Please send any objections to the following email address: bildmaterial@schweitzer-team.de

An important note on equipment:

Rainfall with high moisture content can never be ruled out and is not a reason for postponing or cancelling a course. In this case, please choose clothing that is particularly water-repellent.

Functioning equipment is a prerequisite for attending a ski or snowboard course. Therefore, please have your equipment checked at a specialist shop before the course begins. Our instructors are not permitted to adjust ski bindings as they do not have the appropriate measuring equipment. Snowboard bindings can also only be adjusted on the slopes under difficult conditions and should be adjusted by a specialist shop.
