Course insurance
Insurance to cover for sick leave
Have you booked your ski/snowboard lessons well in advance and are you looking forward to them? But what happens if you fall ill shortly before the start of the course or have to break off during it? Those who have taken out travel insurance for Germany with our partner ERGO Reiseversicherung AG are in good hands.
Your advantage of booking with us
When you book a course at the Schweitzer Team Ski School, you can easily insure the course and, if you wish, your rental equipment at the same time with a single click of the mouse. Booking is straightforward and you only need to enter your details once. We’ll take care of the rest for you! You will then receive the insurance certificate, the insurance conditions and the product sheet with the course confirmation. We will forward your data to ERGO Reiseversicherung AG. Of course, you can also purchase course insurance at a later date. Please note the closing date in this case.
What you absolutely must know
In the event of an insured event, the ski or snowboard course can only be cancelled in its entirety. It is not possible to claim a refund for individual days of the course. This means that the course must be cancelled completely and cannot be continued once the insured event has occurred.

Course insurance benefits
Cancellation of the course
Do you have to interrupt the course you have booked due to illness or injury during the course? In this case, you will receive a refund for the remaining course days that you have not attended. Please note that the booked course cannot be continued; it must be cancelled in its entirety.
You book our Saturday ski course – 4 Saturdays in a row – and are unable to attend on the 2nd day of the course due to illness or injury. You will be reimbursed for three days of the course fees, as the course cannot be continued.
cancellation of a booking
Do you unexpectedly have to withdraw from the course before it begins? You will receive a refund of the contractually incurred cancellation costs for your course at the Schweitzer Team ski school or, alternatively, the rebooking costs. Please note that you cannot join the course at a later date; it must be cancelled in its entirety.
You book our Saturday ski course (4 Saturdays in a row) and fall ill before the first course date. You cannot take the course. In this case, you will receive a full refund of the course fees or rebooking fees. You cannot join the course at a later date.
Family and friends bonus
The insurance also covers you in the event of illness of your relatives or up to three other friends, if you have booked the course together. Relatives are always at risk, even if they have not booked a course. Friends, on the other hand, must have booked the same course together. In this case, please book in quick succession and include ‘friend/girlfriend’ in the notes. It is not absolutely necessary for all friends to take out insurance. Of course, a refund will only be made to the person who has taken out insurance.
If you attend our carnival course with your child, for example, you can also stay at home if your child is ill. You book and attend a course together with max. 3 more friends? Then all four people (provided they are insured) will receive a refund of the course price if one of these friends falls ill.
Insure your rental equipment too
You are also welcome to include your rental equipment. You simply insure the total price and, in the event of an insured event, you will also be reimbursed for the costs of the booked rental equipment.
Important information
Insured reasons for cancellation
- unexpected disease
- serious injury resulting from an accident (including during the course)
- Pregnancy
- Damage to the property of the insured person
- Death
Insurance rate
depending on the amount to be insured, there are different premiums. Prices are always per person or per course.
Underinsurance Clause
You are also covered by insurance, even if you do not insure the full amount (e.g. course plus rental equipment). However, ERGO then applies the so-called underinsurance clause.
This means that it checks the percentage by which you are underinsured and deducts this percentage from the payout.
The claim is therefore not rejected outright; you just receive a reduced amount because you have not taken out full insurance.
Closing date
Course insurance (Germany travel insurance from our partner ERGO Reiseversicherung) must be taken out immediately upon booking, but no later than 30 days before the start of the course. If there are fewer than 30 days between course booking and start of the course, the policy must be taken out no later than the third working day after course booking.
